PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The Diploma in Digital Graphic Design is a comprehensive three-year program designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to create visually compelling and impactful designs using advanced digital tools and technology. This program bridges creativity, technology, and communication, focusing on innovative solutions to challenges in branding, advertising, media, and visual storytelling.

Through a multidisciplinary approach, students gain proficiency in graphic design software, typography, digital illustration, user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) design, and motion graphics. The curriculum emphasizes practical training through studio projects, internships, and industry-driven assignments to ensure graduates are career-ready. Graduates of this program will be well-prepared for roles in creative industries, advertising agencies, digital media production, branding consultancies, and more. The program also lays a strong foundation for those aspiring to pursue further studies in visual communication or digital arts.

Sustainability Focus: Emphasis on sustainable design practices, including eco-friendly packaging and designs that promote environmental consciousness.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Our program is accessible to a wide range of applicants, with various pathways for admission:

  1. A pass in SPM with a minimum of three (3) credits in any subject, or its equivalent; OR
  2. A pass in Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) with a minimum of Grade C (GP 2.00) in any subject, or its equivalent; OR
  3. A pass in Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with a minimum grade of Maqbul in any subject, or its equivalent; OR
  4. A pass in SKM Level 3 / Sijil Vokasional Malaysia (SVM) in a suitable field (Note: The HEPs are to conduct screening and provide a specific guidance for the respective discipline of the program); OR
  5. A Certificate (Level 3, MQF) in a related field with minimum CGPA of 2.00 or its equivalent; OR
  6. A pass in UEC with a minimum of grade B in 3 subjects and pass English
  7. Other relevant equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government; AND
  8. Pass an interview OR submission of portfolio as required by the HEPs.
  9. ENGLISH COMPETENCY REQUIREMENT (INTERNATIONAL STUDENT) achieves a minimum score Band 2 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) or equivalent.

  • Local tuition fee: RM16,185
  • International tuition fee: RM25,575

  • Graphic Designer: Create visual content to communicate messages using software tools. This includes designing logos, brochures, posters, and digital marketing materials.
  • Animator (2D/3D): Develop animations for films, advertisements, and video games. 2D animation involves traditional drawing methods or vector-based tools, while 3D animation focuses on creating lifelike models and environments.
  • 2D/3D Artist: Specialize in creating digital artwork for games, movies, and virtual reality. A 2D artist works on concept art and character designs, while a 3D artist focuses on modelling, texturing, and rendering.
  • Game Designer: Design and develop engaging game mechanics, storylines, characters, and worlds for interactive entertainment.

  • Web Designer: Design the layout, visual appearance, and usability of websites, ensuring an engaging and user-friendly online experience.
  • Videographer: Plan, shoot, and edit videos for various purposes, such as corporate branding, advertising, or creative storytelling.
  • Product & 3D Designer: Develop and design innovative product concepts and prototypes, incorporating 3D modelling and design principles.
  • Digital Imaging Analyst: Work on manipulating and analysing digital images for applications such as advertising, photography, and even technical fields like forensic analysis or medical imaging.
