PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Foundation in Arts is a pre-university preparatory program that prepares you for a smooth transition from SPM to a wide range of degrees such as Bachelor of Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Industrial Psychology, Corporate Communication and Industrial Management. Before students embark on their chosen disciplines, this one-year foundation program prepares them to be more adaptive and gain exposure to the management and arts fields. The duration of the programme is 1 year, consisting of 3 semesters. Students must complete a total of 50 credit hours and maintain a minimum CGPA of 2.00. This programme is offered at the UNISEL Bestari Jaya Campus.
This programme provides students with the theoretical and practical foundations for knowledge and skills in various disciplines of study in the Arts, preparing them for undergraduate studies at Higher Learning Institutions (HLIs) throughout Malaysia.

A Foundation in Arts programme can open various career prospects and academic pathways for individuals. Depending on students’ skills and interests, they will have good opportunities for career growth. This course provides foundational knowledge in subjects that are currently in high demand. They will have a good exposure of basic knowledge so that they will practice it when they step up into the degree level besides will also prepare them for the future undertakings. For example, they may pursue careers in research and development, business, management, or professional fields such as researcher, lecturer, teacher, executive officer, lawyer, content creator, entrepreneur, integrity officer, language developer, counsellor, or work in either government or private sector organizations.
Universiti Selangor (UNISEL), formerly known as Universiti Industri Selangor was established on 23rd August 1999 and was given an approval under Private Higher Education Institutions Act 1996 (Act 555) on 14 March 2000. We are currently operating at two campuses; the sprawling 1000-acre Main Campus in Bestari Jaya and the City Campus in Shah Alam. Our establishment is in line with the State Government’s intention to make Selangor the leading regional education hub.
