BACHELOR OF CIVIL ENGINEERING WITH HONOURS
Programme Description
The Bachelor of Civil Engineering with Honours at the Engineering Department, FELS Unisel is a four-year degree programme designed to provide advanced education in engineering that is relevant to the construction industry; providing the required knowledge and skills pertaining to buildings, water resources, infrastructure, highway and transportation, structures, and the environment. Apart from the basic knowledge and skills in civil engineering, students will also undergo industrial training in the third year of their studies, enhancing their professional attitudes toward engineering practices.
In their final year, students will specialize in core areas of civil engineering. Regular industry and project site visits are conducted to expose students to real-world applications in their fields of specialization. Additionally, students must complete a final year project or thesis, which requires them to develop skills in technical writing, research methodology, experimental research, data collection, analysis, and presentation.
Students further enhance their knowledge, skills, and professional attitudes through participations in various competitions and activities at both university and national levels. These events provide the best platform to test and showcase their capabilities and performance. The Civil Engineering Club (CEC) is a student body that represents all Civil Engineering students within the faculty. It actively organizes industrial visits, talks, seminars and charity works involving all the members. It has contributed greatly in facilitating student members to join the Institute of Engineers Malaysia (IEM) and the Green Card registration from the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB). Additionally, the CEC organizes cultural activities and religious celebrations, fostering a sense of community among students.
