BACHELOR OF EDUCATION (HONS) TEACHING ENGLISH AS SECOND LANGUAGE
The Bachelor of Education (Hons) Teaching English as a Second Language is tailored to the needs of providing a professional qualification for those that aspire to teach English in the secondary schools around Malaysia. It is designed based on various areas of education, English knowledge competence, latest methodologies in teaching and learning as well as teaching practices. Students are trained to be confident in utilizing the language and would be able to implement their competence in various settings.
Graduates of this programme will be able to serve as English instructors in government and private secondary schools or go beyond the teaching field such as entrepreneurships, training, journalism, advertising, broadcasting and publishing. This specially tailored programme will be an added value for the graduates in instilling their passion towards the language and further inspires them to be a comprehensive society for the betterment of the nation.
Entry Requirement
- Pass the Certificate of Basic Year Studies (English as a Second Language) with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 from UNISEL; OR
- Passed STPM or A-Level or with at least two (2) principals minimum grade C in 2 subjects OR
- Pass the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) Matriculation Certificate or Matriculation Certificate or an equivalent qualification from an IPTS that has reached the Minimum Standard or Accreditation Certificate with a minimum approval of 2.00 in the relevant field; OR
- Pass the Malaysian Education Management Certificate/Diploma English option or non-English option but have at least three (3) years of English teaching experience.
