PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The curriculum offers a comprehensive blend of theoretical knowledge and practical skills, aimed at preparing students for diverse careers in industrial and engineering sectors. This set of courses provides an in-depth understanding of scientific equipment, material properties, and industrial processes, along with critical thinking, safety practices, and quality management techniques. Students will also gain hands-on experience in laboratories, computer literacy, and enhance their communication and problem-solving skills. The courses cover a wide range of subjects, from foundational topics in physics, chemistry, and engineering to more specialized areas like non-destructive testing, polymer processing, and industrial robotics. Students will be exposed to industrial practices, including quality control, safety regulations, and management principles. Additionally, courses in communication, entrepreneurship, and critical thinking that are designed to equip students with the soft skills needed for leadership roles in the industry. Through this holistic approach, the curriculum aims to produce well-rounded graduates who are prepared to tackle the challenges of the modern industrial landscape.

PROGRAMME HIGHLIGHT

The syllabus covers a wide range of courses, which are predominantly related to the following fields:

  1. Industrial Engineering and Technology – Courses such as Robotic Automation, Quality Control, Industrial Safety, and Industrial Management reflects a strong focus on industrial environments and technology applications.
  2. Material Science and Metallurgy – Courses like Material and Metallurgy, Polymer and Processing, and Non-Destructive Testing and Material Evaluation emphasize the study of materials and their properties.
  3. Physics and Chemistry – Courses such as Basic Physics, Chemistry I & II, and Electricity and Magnetism provide a strong foundation in physical and chemical sciences.
  4. Engineering Drawing and Design – Courses like Engineering Drawing and Computer-Aided Design are especially relevant to mechanical and civil engineering fields where design and technical drawing are essential.
  5. Instrumentation and Electronics – Courses such as Instrumentation and Introduction to Industrial Electronics focus on the use of scientific equipment and electronic systems in industrial applications.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
  • A Pass in the Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM) or equivalent, with at least a credit in THREE (3) subjects; OR
  • A Pass in the UEC with at least a Grade B in THREE (3) subjects;

OR

  • A Pass in O-Level with at least a Grade C in THREE (3) subjects;

OR

  • A Pass in SKM (Level 3) in a relevant field; and
    1. Possess an SPM qualification with at least a credit in ONE (1) subject; and
    2. undergo a bridging program (if necessary);

OR

  • A Pass in Community College Certificate equivalent to MQF Level 3 in relevant field; and
    1. Possess an SPM qualification with at least a credit in ONE (1) subject; and
    2. undergo a bridging program (if necessary);

OR

  • A Pass in Certificate (MQF Level 3) in a relevant field with a minimum CGPA of 2.00; OR
  • Pass the Malaysian Higher School Certificate (STPM) or equivalent with at least a

Grade C (NGMP 2.0) in ONE (1) subject;

OR

  • Pass STAM (Maqbul Rank);

OR

Other qualifications recognized as equivalent.
