DIPLOMA IN TEACHING ENGLISH AS SECOND LANGUAGE
The Diploma in Teaching English as a Second Language provides a professional qualification for those who seek to teach English, particularly in primary schools. It is designed to provide students with a strong fundamental knowledge of the English language and the teaching of English as a second language. Students are trained to possess a strong command of the English language and the competency to teach English confidently as well as the skills to create a conducive teaching and learning environment for learners.
Graduates of this programme will have an understanding of the history, philosophy, systems, practices and challenges of educational development particularly in the teaching of English as a second language. Entry Requirement
- Pass SPM with at least three (3) credits including a minimum of C6 in English OR
- Pass STPM or its equivalent, with at least a Grade C (NGMP 2.00) in any subject or its equivalent OR
- Certificate in related field and obtained Minimum Standards / Certificate of Accreditation (CGPA 2.00 and above).
