The opening ceremony of the Global Exchange Malaysia GEM UNISEL 2025 International Mobility Programme was held with great excitement at Universiti Selangor (UNISEL), Bestari Jaya Campus yesterday. The ceremony was officiated by Associate Professor Dr. Hashimah Ismail, Acting Director of the International Office, UNISEL.
A total of 55 students from seven higher learning institutions in Indonesia are participating in this ‘summer camp’ programme, which marks a strategic collaboration between UNISEL and the Consortium of Higher Education and Nusantara Scholars (KPTCN), Indonesia.
GEM UNISEL 2025 Series 3 features participation from the following institutions:
1. Institut Kesehatan & Teknologi Al Insyirah (IKTA)
2. Universitas Negeri Malang
3. Universitas Dr. Soetomo
4. STIKES Mutiara Mahakam
5. STT Dumai
6. STIH Awang Long
7. STIH Manokwari
This year’s programme also welcomes seven postgraduate students from Universitas Dr. Soetomo and STIKES Mutiara Mahakam. These Master’s degree students will take part in both academic and cultural segments throughout the mobility programme. Their presence reflects a growing interest in cross-border academic engagement at the postgraduate level.
Professor Dr. Supari Muslim, President of KPTCN, described the programme as a highly anticipated opportunity for Indonesian students to exchange culture, knowledge, and experience, while also strengthening regional ties. He also shared that this visit marks KPTCN’s third visit to UNISEL since 2023.
The delegation also includes students from IKTA, who previously participated in the mobility programme virtually. Dr. Riski Novera Yenita, Vice-Rector of IKTA, was also present to attend the opening of GEM UNISEL Series 3.
Throughout the programme, participants will engage in lectures, cultural visits, and corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities with the local community.
UNISEL extends its heartfelt appreciation for the trust and collaboration established and warmly welcomes all delegates. It is hoped that this programme will further strengthen UNISEL’s role as a regional education hub and expand its international academic network.
